Helen Louise Shell Poole attended the Erma Lee Beauty School and Barber College in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated with honors in July 1965, and earned her cosmetology license from the State Board of Cosmetology that fall.  Helen worked at the Apple Creek State Hospital for several years before leaving healthcare to pursue her dream of owning her own salon.  She was granted a license to practice as an Advanced Cosmetologist and opened Helen’s Beauty Boutique at 860 Walnut Rd. SE. in 1976.
